There is STILL time! I’ve already seen some incredible stuff 3 films into the festival AND (you knew this was coming)…I have had multiple chances to eat popcorn and drink soda on these excursions!• 37 USES FOR A DEAD SHEEP was an amazing documentary film with a sense of humor by film director, Ben Hopkins who did a Q & A afterwards. This is one of the best things about TFF.... is that you get to ask any “behind the scenes” questions that you want to...and/or just gather more info. about the topic that wasn't included in the film itself.
Anyway, it was a documentary about the Pamir Kirghiz people who had to migrate to different parts of the world because of political and geographic pressures on their way of life such as Communism and/or Mother Nature. Everywhere they wanted to live, someone else wanted to…and they were basically peaceful people who just wanted to keep their traditions and their community alive.
• BURKE AND WILLS was a b/w film done by two young actors as a vanity piece to show off their acting skills and they really pulled it off! They must have had incredible people working with them. The editing was excellent and so was the sound and not to mention their acting! Nice work from 2 young blokes from Australia and their talented team of people.
• HCE was an experimental film and it was quite weird and wonderful in a strange sort of non-linear way.
I voted the film excellent if only because I think that it’s important to have films that are experimental in order for the art of filmmaking to survive and have life. You can’t know light without darkness as this filmmaker said himself.
